When Shelton turned 40 on June 18th, he rang in the milestone by headlining Country Jam in Colorado that same evening. Even though he assured the audience that there would be no surprise guests, Stefani stepped out of the wings to sing their song “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” which they co-wrote for Shelton’s new album If I’m Honest.
That wasn’t the only birthday treat he got that night. Before his performance, Shelton participated in a meet and greet with his fans. They surprised him with a guitar shaped birthday cake and sang “Happy Birthday,” according to The Boot.
On Instagram, Stefani captured a less than thrilled Shelton wearing a special birthday crown and sunglasses. The pair were on-board his jet, which she reportedly decorated for the occasion.
