In addition to being judges on The Voice, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have each gone through major breakups in 2015. It makes sense, then, that they might lean on one another for emotional support. Over the weekend, Stefani and Shelton were reportedly seen holding hands after leaving Jared Leto’s Halloween party. That, naturally, sent the gossip mill into overdrive.

Speaking with Carson Daly on his AMP radio show, Stefani defended how she spent the evening. “We’re just trying to have fun,” she said about hanging out with her fellow judge. Having recently gone through a divorce after her 13-year marriage to Gavin Rossdale ended, Stefani said she wanted to blow off some steam. “I was literally that party girl that you hear about, when their life blows up and and they’re like, ‘Oh, I’m going out! Watch me,’” she explained. “Life is crazy. My life basically blew up in my face, and now I’m, like, in this new life, and it’s pretty awesome, I have to say.”
Shelton took to Twitter to share his exasperation with the constant rumors about his personal life.
