Maroon 5 have been trickling new songs from their literally titled upcoming album V. The latest drop, “My Heart Is Open,” follows up their lead single “Maps” and the ’80s-leaning “It Was Always You.”
The piano-laden track is a duet with Gwen Stefani, frontman Adam Levine’s Voice co-star who scored the only guest spot on V.

Even without hearing the album in full, the song feels like what would be the perfect closer. It’s a slow-burning song, as Maroon 5 have been known to make (see: “Maps”), co-written by Sia and featuring Levine and Stefani trading love plea verses.
“Take a chance on me, you won’t regret it,” Levine sings as he opens up the track.
Stefani chimes in, “It won’t take me long to find another lover / but I want you,” with her signature curled “r.”
V, which marks the band’s reunion with keyboardist Jesse Carmichael after a long hiatus and features production by Ryan Tedder, Max Martin, Benny Blanco and ShellBack, is out Sept. 2.
